Pilot certificates Requirements:

*Student Pilot - to solo

  • 14 years of age
  • Logbook endorsement
  • Student Pilot Certificate

*Student Pilot -From solo to private

  • 14 years of age
  • Logbook endorsement by cfig in solo glider
  • Student Pilot Certificate edorsement for solo
  • Two (2) hours of solo flights or 10 flights.

*Private Pilot - No prior certification (written Faa exam)

  • 16 years of age,
  • Logbook endorsement
  • Pass the FAA written exam
  • Review missed questions with cfig

*Faa Checkride: with minimum of 10 hours dual instruction

Ten hours dual instruction ,Twenty flights

  • Two hours solo
  • Ten solo flights
  • Three pretest flights with CFI-G

*Private Pilot Add-on - Prior certification - Minimum of:

  • 16 years of age,
  • Logbook endorsements
  • Pass the FAA written exam
  • Review missed questions with cfig
  • 10 Pic Dual Flights & 10 solo flights
  • 3 dual flights with cfig in preparation for exam

Additional Pilot Rating
Holders of a valid FAA Power plane license with 40 hours as pilot-in-command need a minimum of 10 solo flights to qualify to take the glider flight test. No written exam is required to add a glider rating to a power license. In all cases, refer to the Federal Aviation Regulations for details on pilot licensing.

*Commercial Pilot - Prior private certification - Minimum of:

  • Commercial Pilots-Glider
    Commercial Pilots-Glider must be at least 18-years of age, pass a written FAA examination, hold a Private Pilot license with 25 hours of flight time in gliders and 100 glider flights as pilot-in-command, or a total of 200 hours of flight time in heavier-than-air aircraft including 20 glider flights as pilot-in-command, 3 hours or ten flights training in a glider, and five solo flights in a glider and pass a flight test.

*Faa Checkride: with minimum of 25 hours (commercial)

  • 3 dual flights with cfig in preparation for exam

*Commercial Pilot - PriorFAA License (Add-On)- Minimum of: Ref. §61.129(f)(2): (2)

  • Commercial Pilots-Glider
    Commercial Pilots-Glider must be at least 18-years of age,, hold a FAA Pilot license with 25 hours of flight time in gliders and 100 glider flights as pilot-in-command, or a total of 200 hours of flight time in heavier-than-air aircraft including 20 glider flights as pilot-in-command, 3 hours or ten flights training in a glider, and twenty solo flights (PIC) in a glider and pass a flight test.

*Faa Checkride: with minimum of 25 hours (commercial)

  • 3 dual flights with cfig in preparation for exam

*Certified Flight Instructor Glider (cfig) - Prior commercial certification - Minimum of:

  • 18 years of age,
  • Holding a Commercial certifictare (glider rating)
  • Logbook endorsements
  • Pass Faa written exam
  • Loogbook endorsement by cfig
  • 3 dual flights with cfig in preparation for exam
Pass a FAA flight test

*Certified Flight Instructor Glider (cfig) Add-On- Need CFI certification, and minimum of:FAR 61.183

  • 18 years of age,
  • Holding a Commercial certifictare
  • 15 hours in gliders
  • Logbook endorsements
  • Pass Faa written exam (short 50 questions)
  • Loogbook endorsement by cfig
  • 3 dual flights with cfig in preparation for exam
